The short version
Shah Abbas Rugs is a family-owned gallery in Sarasota, Florida. This website exists so people can look at rugs and get in touch. We do not sell, rent or trade anyone's personal information, and we never have.
You can browse this entire site without telling us who you are. The only time we ask for your details is when you choose to send us a message, and we use them for one thing: replying to you.
This page was last updated in August 2026. If it changes, the date changes with it.
The detail
What is collected, and why
The contact form
Your name, phone number, email address and whatever you write in the message. It is sent to the gallery so we can answer you. We keep it in our own records so we know the history if you come back to us later. We do not add you to a mailing list from a contact form.
Phone calls
If you tap the phone number on this site, your phone dials the gallery. We see your number the way any business sees a caller ID. Calls are not recorded.
Saved and recently viewed rugs
If you save a rug or open a rug page, that rug's display number is stored in your own web browser so the list is still there when you come back. It stays on your device, it is never sent to us or to anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes it. We cannot see what you have saved unless you read the numbers to us.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It tells us things like how many people looked at the cleaning page last week and roughly what city they were in. It does not tell us your name.
Advertising
We advertise on Google. If you visit this site you may later see a Shah Abbas ad on Google, YouTube or another site in Google's network. That works through a cookie Google places in your browser. If a rug page sends anything about the rug, it is only the public display number and the style category you can already see on the page. Our suppliers' names and product codes are never put on this site or into any advertising tag.
Server logs
Our web host records the usual technical information for every visit: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is standard for every website and is used for security and troubleshooting.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone except the service providers named here who help run the site. We do not take payments on this website, so no card details are ever entered here.
Your choices
How to turn any of this off
Block the cookies
Every major browser can block or delete cookies, in Settings under Privacy. Blocking them will not stop you using this site.
Opt out of Google advertising
Google's own Ads Settings page lets you turn off personalised advertising across everything Google runs. There is also a browser add-on from Google that switches off Analytics on every site you visit.
Clear your saved rugs
Clearing your browser's site data for this website removes the saved and recently viewed lists immediately.
Ask us to delete your details
Call the gallery or send a message and we will remove what we hold. We will not ask you why.
Do Not Track
Browsers send a Do Not Track signal that no industry standard tells websites how to honour, so we do not claim to act on it. The controls above are the ones that actually work.
Other things worth saying
Children, links and changes
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Some pages link out to other websites, such as our Facebook and Instagram pages. Once you leave this site you are on someone else's terms, not ours.
If we change how any of this works, we will change this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
